Useful tools in the garden: wheelbarrow, pickax and saw
One very popular in home gardens wheelbarrows are quickly being replaced by new two wheeled garden carts. This contraption is much easier for most people in use, as it is lighter, and more of the load weight is supported by wheels. It is also considerably more stable than one wheeled barrows, but less maneuverable. For heavy routine work in the garden or large loads, steel wheelbarrow will be the best choice.
Pickax
The pickax is intended for serious digging through dense soil and clay. The pick (pointed end) or the mattock (wide blade) are both used to chop down into the soil, and the head, made as a cradle, can be used as a lever arm to break open the soil, allowing it to be dug up more easily.
Saw
Saws designed for pruning have larger cutting teeth than a usual saw, for the quick cuts through branches and branches over an inch in diameter. Always ‘undercut’ the branch before making the final top cut, to avoid damage of the bark of the tree or shrub.
